George Washington & Thomas Jefferson used a political spectrum line that was essentially a "freedom meter." You had "tyranny" on one extreme & "anarchy" on the other. Tyranny & Strong Centralized Government sits today on what we call the Left. Freedom & Decentralized Government sits on what we call the Right. The further you go either way the greater the potential for tyranny or anarchy.
