This was my thought a few days ago...

Given the nature of both men and the impacts to Musk's business, especially Tesla, it's possible that this is a bit of theater on the part of Trump and Musk.
The idea being that Musk splitting from Trump and dissing him along the way would tend to decrease the Left's jihad…
