George Washington & Thomas Jefferson used a political spectrum line that was essentially a "freedom meter." You had "tyranny" on one extreme & "anarchy" on the other. Tyranny & Strong Centralized Government sits today on what we call the Left. Freedom & Decentralized Government sits on what we call the Right. The further you go either way the greater the potential for tyranny or anarchy. History has proven though that the much greater risk comes from tyranny.
