Richard Gabriel was
Professor of Politics and History and Director of Advanced Courses, in the
Department of National Security and Strategy at the U.S. Army War College in
Carlisle, Pennsylvania, where he introduced the study of ancient warfare to the
curriculum.
Dr. Gabriel has
held many faculty positions at the University of New Hampshire, University of
Massachusetts, Daniel Webster College, and was a tenured professor at St. Anselm College before
assuming the post at the Army War College. He currently is a Distinguished
Visiting Professor in the Department of History and War Studies at the Royal
Military College of Canada. Professor Gabriel has held positions at the
Brookings Institution, the U. S. Army Intelligence School, the Center for the
Study of Intelligence at the CIA, the Walter Reed Institute of Research,
Department of Combat Psychiatry, and the Canadian Forces College in
Toronto.
Dr. Gabriel,
incredibly, is the author of fifty two books and more than 150 articles on
various subjects in political science, ancient history, military history,
anthropology, psychology, psychiatry, sociology, ethics, philosophy, and the
history of theology. He is a true polymath that has delivered over one hundred
conference papers in his forty-two year career!
