Yes true. 1. Power companies dont have to cross State lines. They usually dont because of differing regulations at the state puc level. 2. Liberty Utilities can find a CA generation power source for their distribution lines. 3. Data centers take up GIGAWATTS of power. The entirety of Lake Tahoe won't do that much. 4. (CA is just a bunch of bitchy whiners.) A year to find another generation supplier is plenty of time even if new lines need to be added. 5. A power generator in CA? Yes they just reallocate existing reserves or up their generation to meet Liberty's expected demand. Rates to consumers all depends on what Liberty can negotiate with generator. 6. Worry level residents are left out in the cold. Next to 0% chance. Prices sky rocketing not likely.
