The Cost to Breathe Free

    There is a lot being written and spoken about the migrant crisis that the United States is currently forced to grapple with. People from all over the world come to the United States to bring the vision of the American dream into reality. There is a bill that must be paid, but no one wants to pay it. The Biden administration surely doesn’t, that administration would rather you pay, but the harsh reality is that they approach the American people with their pockets turned inside out. They are asking us to foot the bill for the world’s freedom. I am more than willing to do it, but not for the price of our veteran’s livelihood, our citizens security, or my family’s freedom.

   If there is one, yes just one, homeless person on the street that served in the United States military for any amount of time, they should be in a hotel instead of an illegal immigrant that’s been here for ten minutes. That veteran paid a price to be a citizen of the United States and the cost for their freedom was paid in blood or sanity or their family. So, an illegal immigrant will get free housing, free healthcare, and free food, all paid by our benevolent government. While that same government puts our soldiers in harms way, to protect our freedoms, only to turn their back on them when they return home. No wonder recruiting numbers are down for the armed services, it pays better to be an illegal immigrant than retired military. This administration should be ashamed of itself.

    I know some out there are saying, “Aaron, what about the Statue of Liberty? Doesn’t it read on its inscription, ‘Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free. The wretched refuse of your teeming shore, send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me. I lift my lamp beside the golden door.’ Why don’t we follow that creed?” That is a valid question, idealistic and shortsighted, but valid. First, this isn’t legislation, it’s an inscription at the bottom of a statue that brings hope to people who are coming here through the port authority legally. One more time for the cheap seats, LEGALLY! Second, is this the standard that we want to set for the immigrants coming to New York, “the wretched refuse”? Let me translate, give us the trash that you don’t want in your countries, we’ll take them. Where is the inscription at the Southern border? What would that look like I wonder? “Give me your gangs, your murderers, your cartels, yearning to expand their business. The terrorists and America haters from your land, send these, your human traffickers, pedophiles to me.” Obviously, not everyone coming across the border illegally is a terrorist or criminal. A homeland security website shows that in the last 3 years there have been more than 6 million documented illegal border crossings, that’s right documented. So, arguably, there would have to be undocumented illegal border crossings. If one of those is a terrorist that wants to do harm to the United States, that is one too many. Let’s be honest, it’s closer to 1% which means that approximately 60,000 terrorists or criminals have entered into this country and want to do harm. If even one terrorist is cause for concern, what does 60,000 do, cause panic? Our government doesn’t panic, don’t worry our government has a plan!

    Since the government is effectively running out of places to hide these illegal immigrants, they will place them for an unspecified amount of time in your home. First, they will start with people who are on the waiting list to adopt. You wanted to adopt a child, you’re in luck, you get an entire family! This way the government no longer pays for their housing and food you do. Don’t worry, you will receive a voucher that can redeemed once a week for one soft serve ice cream at McDonald’s… what’s that the machine is broken, oh well, you get nothing. When I say “nothing”, I mean no monetary gain, but you do get the joy of seeing that immigrant family get a fresh start and take over your home. Next, the government will find those filing their taxes with more than one home and place immigrants in your secondary residence. You don’t need two homes! Why don’t you share! I’m looking at you Bernie Sanders, don’t you have four homes? It’s only a matter of time before the government figures out a loophole to temporarily house illegal immigrants in vacant homes across the United States, that they will eventually transition into permanent housing for them. Thank you in advance for your reluctant contribution, you have done your country a great service, you will get a $500 tax credit one time for donating your home.

    How do we know that the Biden administration is so bad? Because we remember what standards we had in the past. Every facet of American society and culture are eroding before our eyes. The price of everything has gone up. Food, gas, utilities, housing, TAXES, and they are trying to bring the bill around again for us to pay. When will the government understand that citizens vote their conscience, but eventually they vote with their bank account. Every citizen of the United States has sacrificed something over the last four years, whether it’s tangible or intangible, we’ve all sacrificed. Now the Biden administration wants us to forget about the last three years and give him another four? What will that cost me as an average citizen? My home, my sanity, my family? That’s a price that I am not willing to pay, but it is something that every citizen must consider as the cost to breathe free in another four years under a Biden regime.
